THE HAPPY PRINCE – ORAL PRESENTATION

Hi, there!
We are Lucía and José from “Escuela de Lenguas”. We want to tell you about our oral presentation we prepared in English for our classmates and teacher Sandra last month.
The theme of the presentation was “The Happy Prince” by Oscar Wilde. To help us to tell this fairy story we showed pictures in a PowerPoint presentation with Julia’s projector. Thanks Julia! Those images were taken from a nice cartoon directed by Michael Mills in 1974, with the voice of Christopher Plummer and Glynis Johns. You can see the film in two parts at youtube. Here's the link:

We also gave a brief talk about the author, mainly extracted from:
http://www.online-literature.com/wilde/
Although it is an extemporal tale, to know something about the time and place we looked for “The Palace of Sans Souci” here:

Surfing the Internet we found that a songwriter and composer named Daniel Cainer makes a high-tech presentation of “The Happy Prince” for children. We listened to a particular song which tells the Happy Prince’s feelings and we liked it. So we wrote the lyrics down and made photocopies for our classmates to sing it with the help of a cd-player. Here you can find all the Daniel Cainer’s songs:

We both think preparing this oral presentation was a very interesting experience and we hope our listeners have enjoyed it.
Bye, bye!
